Head on Straight

As promised, a few minor changes to the blog page have been completed. The link to Tonic has been added, and the disclaimer at the bottom of the page has been added.

If you have been reviewing my postings on my favorite artists, you may begin to think that I am a fan of the Alternative-Rock persuasion. The fact is, I enjoy nearly all forms of music. I do prefer certain styles over others, but you can find me listening to Bach or Beethoven as well as music as aggressive as punk, industrial, or thrash metal.

Over the last five years or so, I have been going through a huge retro-rock phase, where the music I have been appreciating has been anywhere from ten to thirty years old. There are a few exceptions though, and a few of them have been discussed in this weblog, as well as added to the links section of the sidebar.

One band I have enjoyed since their debut in 1996 has been Tonic. They are simply a straight-ahead rock group with great songwriting skills, thoughtful lyrics, and catchy guitar riffs. They achieved a significant amount of airplay with their smash-hit If You Could Only See. That song is only a reflection of their ability to write a pop song. The true genius of the band is only realized once you have given their three major releases: Lemon Parade, Sugar, and Head On Straight a few solid listens.

I have been enjoying their music since 1996, and I am still not tired of their albums.
